Overview

The St John's Curriculum

At St John’s we believe that an engaging, exciting curriculum will captivate children’s attention and will spark a love of learning that will hold them in good stead for future years.

All children will learn the skills of reading, writing and mathematics and be able to apply these accurately in various situations. However, it is vitally important that our curriculum is broad and balanced to engage the pupils who will later in life be working in the Arts, Engineering, Sciences or Sport.

Our curriculum is constantly under review and the one question we constantly ask is: “Is this curriculum the best it can be to maximise the children’s learning at all times?”

We will adapt and make accessible our curriculum to ensure that we comply with the Equality Act of 2010 and fully include all pupils with disabilities or special educational needs. All pupils will be included and feel part of the St John’s family.

At St John’s school we feel passionate about pupils leaving this school with an embedded fantastic learning culture ready for future challenges not just in secondary school but beyond.

All policies relating to our curriculum can be found, on the schools’ website, in the policies section under the ‘Key Information’ tab.

Please read the documents available on this tab, but if you’d like to know more please feel free to contact the school via the ‘Contact Us’ page.
