PE and Sport Premium Grant
At St John’s C of E Primary School, Danbury, we are committed to providing every child with a well-rounded education that nurtures both their academic learning and their physical development. The PE and Sport Premium is a special funding initiative from the UK government that helps us to enhance your child’s PE, sport and wider physical activity experiences.
The PE and Sport Premium is specifically designed to improve physical activity opportunities and promote healthier, more active lifestyles. By using this funding well, we aim to:
Elevate the quality of PE
We invest in training and support so that lessons are high-quality, progressive and engaging for all pupils.
Expand the range of sports and activities
We broaden what pupils can experience in PE and through clubs, so children can discover activities they enjoy and feel confident to keep pursuing.
Boost participation and daily activity
We encourage every child to be active throughout the school day, developing positive habits that support wellbeing, focus and learning.
Foster teamwork and sportsmanship
We provide opportunities for pupils to take part in events and competitions, building resilience, respect, teamwork and a sense of belonging.
Enhance equipment and resources
We invest in equipment and resources that improve the quality of teaching and increase the variety of activities available.
We believe in being open about how we use this funding. As parents and carers, you have a right to see how this investment supports your child’s experiences in PE and sport. We regularly review our provision and publish our strategy and spending documents so our use of funding is clear, accountable and focused on sustainable impact.
