School Mission

To enable all children to achieve their true potential in a caring Christian community.

School Values

Respect, Responsibility, Kindness, Truthfulness and Perseverance.

Our visions and values are at the core of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

We are a "learning to learn" school and our experienced and enthusiastic staff, fully supported by parents, governors and friends, provide a caring and structured learning environment.

Our aims are:
• To provide the best possible education for every child, within the context of a caring Christian community.
• To be tolerant and understanding with respect for the rights, views and property of others.
• To develop in children a responsible and independent attitude towards work and towards their roles in society.
• To enable children to achieve their potential in terms of academic achievement, aesthetic appreciation and spiritual awareness.

We live by our values:

At St John's we show RESPECT by:

We treat everyone as we would like to be treated. We work together in tolerance, understanding and respect to create a happy school. We celebrate differences and similarities and embrace the diversity of our community.

At St John's we show RESPONSIBILITY by:

We are responsible for our words, actions and attitude. We can be trusted to do what is right and make good choices. We all have a responsibility to make our world a better place. By working together, as a team, we achieve this.

At St John's we show KINDNESS by:

We try to be kind with the words that we use and our actions. We try and be kind to the school environment and the environment outside by putting things away and not throwing litter.

At St John's we show TRUTHFULNESS by:

We try to be honest in all that we say and do. We know it is important to be truthful and accept responsibility if we have done something wrong.

At St John's we show PERSEVERANCE by:

We work hard to achieve the best we can in everything we do, even when it is difficult. We are not afraid to ask for help when we need it.
