Many congratulations to this young man for winning a national STEM competition. STEM Point, the organisation that ran the event during National Science Week challenged primary pupils to design and build a bug only using 4 pieces of paper: no glue, sticky tape or any other fixings. There were two categories, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Mrs Holdsworth, the science subject coordinator, promoted the event in March during lockdown and we had our own mini competition in school. The winning designs were sent to STEM Point to represent our school in the main national competition.
The judges that this bug was the unanimous winner in the Key Stage 1 category and beat off 33,000 other entrants.
Many congratulations to this engineer of the future.
