Macmillan Balloon Release

On Friday 25th September 2009, 147 balloons were released into the air on our school field. Families and friends of the school had purchased a balloon for £1 and all proceeds were collected for Macmillan Cancer Support. The entire school community were invited to watch the balloon release after a 10 to 1 countdown by the children. The children were enthralled by the many green and white ballons which rose into the sky and headed eastwards. We are now waiting for the furthest balloon ticket to be posted back to us, before we announce the winners of the race. Running alongside this balloon race was a community coffee morning, also in support of Macmillan. Guests took part in a raffle and were served drinks and cakes by our year 6 pupils. Thank you to everyone who supported the morning and over £400 was raised for this worthwhile charity.
